Idea # 10: Not just a pay slip
How do you usually get your weekly/monthly pay slip? Does the company issue it on payday to you personally? Do you get it sent by snail mail? Well, what you usually might get is just the pay slip showing you what you earned before and after tax, right? Well, it doesn't always have to be just that….. Everyone who is considered a valuable member of a team should get (like a post-it note attached to the pay slip) a handwritten note from his supervisor/boss, etc. saying how valuable his/her contribution for the company is. An employee doesn't always need to be rewarded just by money, sometimes some simple praising words can motivate even more effectively. The message could be for example: "It was really great how you solved the problem with customer xyz last week. Thanks."
